Classification of sports injuries- (b) Bone injuries - There are following types of bone injuries. 1. Simple fracture 2. Compound fracture 3. Complicated fracture 4. Greenstick fracture 5. Classification of sports injuries:- (a) Soft Tissue Injuries- There are following types of soft tissue injuries. 1. Contusion. 2. Strain. 3. Sprain. 4. Abrasion. 5. Bruises. 1. Contusion- Contusion is a muscle injury. A direct hit with all without any sports equipment can be the main cause of contusion. Contusions can also be due to minor accidents to skin, such as falling, bumping into something for being hit or kicked. In contusion, blood vessels in the muscles are broken and sometimes bleeding may occur in the muscles which cause bruise. *Prevention 1. Proper warm up is essential before practice, training and competition. All the parts of a body should be exercised properly.  2. Conditioning should be emphasised during the preparatory periood. 3. Introduction:- Sports injuries are common in the field of game and sports. During practice, matches, training any player can be injured. Perhaps, there is no player who has not been injured during his sports career. Indeed, it is natural to get injured. Sports injuries can be prevented to a certain extent if proper research is conducted in this domain. During training and completion, proper protective equipment must be used.  It has been observed minutely that single type of injury does not occur in all the games and sports.  Classification of sports injuries   Sports injuries can be classified in the following ways. (a) Soft tissue injuries. (b) Bone injuries. Causes of sports injuries There are various causes of sports injuries which are described below. 1. Improper Conditioning - For better performance in sports, it is necessary to do proper conditioning. 2. Improper Warming-up - Due to improper warming-up, an athlete or sports person may get injured during training or competition.
