What is Advertisement? Advertisement refers to provide information about some facts / particulars; however the term has a broader meaning in the business world. Advertisements promote sales by capturing a larger audience. It is a paid form of non-personal communication with an identified sponsor, who pays for the promotion of a particular product or service. Advertisements are done by the various means such as print media, electronic media, cinema, social media etc. We come across a number of advertisements every day which make us aware about various products and services available in the market like investments, insurance policies, detergent, coldrinks, educational institutes, automobiles, cars, hospitals, hotel entertainment, etc. According to Philip Kotler- “ Advertising is any paid form of non-personal presentation and promotion of ideas, goods and services through mass media such as newspapers, magazines, television or radio by an identified sponsor.” Media/ Means
